As was her wont, she'd asked for only the barest outline of the case: an old country mansion being converted into a hotel...something that shouldn't be there...something that was then causing problems and more than problems to the workforce. It sounded straightforward enough, sounded like the standard scenario of an earthbound spirit re-enacting some meaningful ritual. No doubt it would then follow the standard pattern of all such cases: she would identify this spirit, she would make contact with it, and she would send it on.
Just another day at the office, really. Yeah, right. Like it's always that simple...
