Dana is an grown woman who experienced sexual trauma  but get nu help from her family and the church.  She has to fight PTSD herself and she managed to become a psychiatrist and medical doctor.   It is a selfhelp book with autobiograpphical elements of how to cope with the complaints of PTSD, the detachment and loneliness.  Dana also fight against depression.   Spirituality was of great help because she is never accepted in the church but because of her mistakes she is rejected by the church members
