There is a battle for Mars. A vote made it the fifty-second state, but was the vote accurate? Harlan Sanos, the state's top cop, must investigate a possible corrupt election that may involve the governor, a black market on water, and a missing miner. The biggest battle involves the Mars Liberation Army, which wants Mars to be an independent country populated and ruled by only people who were born on Mars and wants to send all the interlopers back to Earth.
