Remnants of the Witch Guard
In the Kingdom of Umber, they say, the sun never shines, and dark curtains of mist and gloom hang over the land eternally. It is in this darkness that the children of great Umulus, the Shadow Owl, thrive, for the light is not oft welcomed in the land of shadow, nor is it sought after. What grows in Umber grows in darkness, and is made pale by piercing moonlight. When two siblings, alike in Umberian blood but different in temperament, set foot at last in the iron city of Tallum, they unwittingly step also into a dangerous hunt for monsters; vile beings corrupted by the curse of magical power, fleeing persecution from the nearby Kingdom of Galdanon: Witches.
