Daisy was born into wealth, and at eighteen she expects to be married to an elite man, perhaps even a prince. But things change quickly, and in 1542 Daisy finds herself on a ship sailing to the new world. Her secret lover signs on as a settler and travels to Canada to be with her. When they are discovered, the two lovers and Daisy's handmaiden are abandoned on a remote island in the St. Lawrence. Left to survive or die, the three must face harsh weather, avoid vicious predators, and figure out how to live.
