An explosive blast kills two people. Firebombs and another blast follow the blast. Jody Tyler, the bull in the China shop, is called to assist in investigating these murders in a small town. This investigation is not typical as it forces Jody to look back on her past mistakes and sexual improprieties. Jody must reveal herself unreservedly to Detective Wade Vaughn, a new partner, to work on this case.
Detective Vaughn's soon-to-be ex-wife dispatches forces to retrieve her husband and daughter. The two detectives must combine forces to solve the case and protect each other from deadly forces.
