Nordic Christmas
Kim André Arnesen's Nordic Christmas is a collection of seven carols originating from three Nordic countries : Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Written in honour of the 125th anniversary of Sons of Norway (an organisation that represents people of Norwegian heritage in North America), these new arrangements capture Christmas imagery, from the joy of singing in O Yule, full of gladness and the excitement of Jesus's arrival in A Child is born in Bethlehem, to the chiming bells in Christmas bells across the earth and the wonder of the star in Lovely is the dark blue sky.
Nordic Christmas evokes the celebration, mystery and spirit of the festive season, with a Nordic flavour, for singers and audiences alike. This vocal score, which includes accompaniment for piano, can also be used for performing the version of Nordic Christmas with ensemble accompaniment, available on hire from Boosey & Hawkes. English and Norwegian texts are included, and the carols may also be performed in other Nordic languages where appropriate.
