John Playford

John Playford's collection The English Dancing Master, published 18 times between 1651 and 1728, contains real hits of that time. It asks for dancing but also for experimentation, interpretation and lively music-making. The five selected dances can even be played by beginners on the descant recorder. This edition is part of the new Schott Student Edition series which offers varied literature at five different levels of difficulty.
