Bruce Foston is a hardened drifter with a past full of ghosts and no patience left for God. When he rides into in Augustine, a dusty mining town controlled by the corrupt and tyrannical Colonel Ed Boon and his ruthless enforces, he is looking for nothing more than payday. Initially driven solely by the promise of wealth, and detached from moral obligations, Bruce takes on the role of sheriff and becomes complicit in Boon's ruthless schemes to eliminate his rivals, and increase his wealth.
However, a desperate plea for justice from the resilient Grace Reed, whose husband Ruben had been framed for murder by Boon, ignites a dormant sense of righteousness within Bruce and choosing to abandon his self-serving path, he uncovers a trail of lies, killings, and corruption buried deep in Augustine's blood-soaked soil. Now, Bruce has a choice, keep riding with the devil, or draw a line in the dust and fight for something worth dying for.
