Rotimi Ogunjobi

When twelve-year-old Yunusa loses his beloved hen, he sets out on an unexpected journey guided by his late father's lessons about kindness, patience and courage. A surprising trade brings him a beautiful horse, but what appears to be a loss soon leads him to the village of Garin Dutsi, where an elderly chief desperately needs help. Using careful observation, practical wisdom and the humble objects he carries, Yunusa earns the trust of strangers and returns home with more than useful gifts.
Yet jealousy, hidden danger and difficult choices still await him. To protect his family and community, Yunusa must prove that good fortune is not created by magic, possessions or selfish ambition.
