Kanthida, born in eastern Thailand to an impoverished family of rice farmers, is sold to a brothel in Bangkok before she is eleven years old. By the time she is 20, she marries a notorious Bangkok policeman known as Duke. She has achieved fame on her own by now. She is resplendent, sexy and indomitable.  Stunned to discover that her husband is a vicious paid killer, she tries to desert him by marrying a client and moving to Norway.  Duke pursues her, and a bloody war between them begins, bringing Kan back to her childhood village where the spirits of the dead infuse Duke with dark powers.
