N the aftermath of what occurred in Morana's realm, Xander is feverishly searching for a cure for Selandra's condition, brought on by her near-death experience. Morana floods Dragermora with hoards of the undead, making her move to bring an ancient prophecy to fruition between her and her two brothers. Though the Dampire and his partner are safe from the undead, there are other factions threatening to end them both in the midst of the apocalyptic chaos as they travel to the Fae capital of Direwood to discern who are their allies and who wants them both dead.
