In December 1745, Charles Edward Stuart, the "Bonnie Prince, " abandons his invasion of England. Come spring, with the support of Highland allies and promised French reinforcements, Charles vows to fulfil the decades long Jacobite cause of restoring the Crown to the House of Stuart. Despite the onset of winter, William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, grants Charles no reprieve. Sullied by previous defeats and misfortunes, Cumberland vows to shatter the very soul of Jacobitism.
