I don't understand why you waited so long."If you're a woman who wants children, but has yet to be blessed with them, I'm certain that you've heard these questions and statements in some form or another. Being a woman over 30 makes you realize that there is a common misconception that your own fertility is for public opinion and discussion.
No matter the intention, questions and statements like these are insensitive and extremely invasive. They can also be very hurtful, as there are numerous reasons that women have yet to conceive. These reasons are deeply personal, and oftentimes, women don't want to be forced to share this information through impromptu roundtable. Though it can often make us feel isolated, and as if this is an individual issue, it's a silent struggle for so many.
It's important that relatable, realistic discussion is had amongst those who are, or have experienced these issues. Dialogue about common triggers and obstacles faced while still trying and waiting may prove cathartic.
