When engaging in blackout or erasure poetry, or in cut-ups of an article, you may start without knowing what you're seeking, but eventually, something profound will emerge. Sometimes it provides an answer to an unformulated, yet essential question. This process resembles automatic writing, but in reverse. It is my way of 'channeling.'Writers, painters, and musicians often remain unaware of the exact origin of their Muse.
It frequently seems to reside in the 'child-like state of awe and wonder' we once knew, as Tom Evans described. So, embark on a journey without knowing the destination, remain open to whatever crosses your path, allow the Spirits to speak to you... and when Inspiration arrives, follow its flow through the appropriate channels. Is it the Universal Mind, the Work of Angels, the Wisdom of an Ascended Master, or the Message of a Spirit Guide who has transitioned? As an agnostic, I don't claim to know.
But these are the blackout poetry messages that came through the channels opened by the books, brochures, leaflets, annotations, and the multitude of mails and letters written and received by my friend Filip Coppens (1971-2012), also known as the alternative history author Philip Coppens, back in the nineties...
