''The Greatest Cattle Drive''  is a 1964 book by Paul Iselin Wellman that  details the 1866 cattle drive of  Nelson Story, who drove 1, 000 cattle from Texas to Montana. The book recounts the journey's hardships, including stampedes, river crossings, and confrontations with Native Americans, and it won a  Western Heritage Award in 1965.
