Julie Rutter and her friends take up an invitation from their Russian friend, Yevgeni Bobrick to stay at his dacha near St Petersburg. This is a thank you for their participation in helping him to bring down a notorious gangster, Ketya Kurakina the previous year. While staying at the dacha, Rutter remembers how vengeance seems to be a recurring theme in their lives. She is unaware that vengeance is being plotted against them at that very moment.
