Cocaine And Heroin Trafficking In The Caribbean: The Case Of Trinidad And Tobago, Jamaica And Guyana (Revised)
This work published in 2004 dealing with the nature of the illicit trades in Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Guyana has now been thoroughly revised through the presentation of an an analysis of events from 2005 to 2025 along with never presented before analyses of the evolution of the illicit trades in these three countries from the 1970s. In the case of Trinidad and Tobago an analysis is presented on the impact on the social order of T&T from the 1960s to 2025 of the impact of the five evolutionary stages of the business models of the illicit trades of the Western Hemisphere seen in the rise of Gangland, the drug trafficking oligarchs and in the 21st century the presence of two irreconcilable illicit business models at war with each other.
For Jamaica the same is done which explains the rise of Jamaican transnational organised crime, organised crime and the rise of the Jamaican drug trafficking oligarchs and the presence in Jamaica in the 21st century of two irreconcilable illicit business models at war with each other. For Guyana the analysis places Guyana in the context of being an active transshipment point thereby constituting a huge dynamic, vibrant illicit market which exerts intense power over the legal economy of Guyana in spite of Guyana's fabled carbon energy boom.
This analysis then presents in detail the reality of how transnational organised crime in these three states drive the evolution of the illicit economy in these three states including gun violence presenting grave threats to the survival of these states as viable entities under the rule of law.
