Résumé

J# Beta 1 was released in October 2001. It is billed by Microsoft as a " Java-language tool for the NET Framework " and forms the first part of the JUMP (Java User Migration Path) initiative. While the final release of J# is to be expected " when it is ready ", it will be fully integrated in the Microsoft Visual Studio NET IDE. This will allow Java developers to use their hard earned skills to target the NET platform. J# is a language based on the Java syntax ; it is a compiler that generates. NET IL and therefore does not use a JVM ; and it is a set of NET classes that emulate the functionality of Java JDK 1.1.4. This book covers all these aspects of this new technology and how to exploit them from Visual Studio NET in order to develop GUI Applications, Web Applications and Web Services.
