Résumé

After five years of captivity with ISIS in Syria, the CIA  rescues Natalie, an American who had been kidnapped and enslaved. Only she knows that ISIS arranged her rescue after training her as an assassin for a mission in America. But she also harbors a secret plan of her own: to seek revenge on her kidnappers. Upon returning home, her handler contacts her and supplies her with weapons. Now that she has everything she needs, she must decide whether to complete the mission she trained for, or betray ISIS to seek revenge on her kidnappers.
Scared by her experience as a captive, she trusts no one but herself to make the decision. Ron Jackson, a flawed private investigator working mundane divorce cases, is battling guilt over his failure to find eight orphaned children sold by a shadowy organization to the highest bidder at the time he worked the case as a police detective six years ago. Natalie is one of the eight, and when he learns of her return, he is eager to reopen the investigation using names she has supplied to the FBI.
As he tracks down the kidnapper, he encounters Natalie, who has journeyed across the country to seek his help in destroying the organization that took her. The two form a loose partnership. But when he suspects she is far more than a former enslaved girl, he realizes that partnering with her could be the biggest mistake of his life. ISIS and the organization are both tracking them down. To survive, can Natalie and Ron find a way to trust each other before it's too late?
