1954. The actress Ava Gardner spends a few days in Cubaafter shooting her hit film The Barefoot Contessa. Ava's agent tries desperately to reach her with an offer she'll likelynot refuse: a tour around the world to promote the film. Ava accepts, and the tour begins in South America. Everything's going off withouta hitch. Hordes of fans greet Ava wherever she goes. The drinks areflowing at parties thrown in her honor.
But then she reachesRio de Janeiro, where it all takes a turn for the worse.
