Called to combat the evil behind the riotsThe invisible warfare becomes apparent. It's not the donkey versus the elephant. All the people seem to be mere pawns in the epic battle. But the Messiah has had enough-in Albuquerque in the near future. He wants some of His people to directly battle the enemy. With the apostate church, people like that are exceedingly rare. But He has been watching a young man who might be willing.
The Lord speaks to Denzell Trujillo, a Hispanic/Afro-Caribbean college freshman, during church. He thought it was audible, though no one else heard the voice. But he knows what he heard and he does what the Lord asks him to do. Once he's safely born of God, the Lord shows him an evil group behind the vicious riots. But all that Denzell knows is that he feels called to pray for Raquel, a young waitress who served his meal in a posh restaurant.
Things begin change when he discovers Raquel is working for that evil group. But, he's told to continue to pray for her. Then, Jesus has him rescue Raquel. It shocks both of them with the need to keep their relationship holy. They find out what that demonic group is really like. Their method is to cause chaos, on purpose. A group so evil that they'll kill a young man just to get the students angry enough to do what is needed.
Their work begins to have real meaning. These are believers of a type you've not seen before in fiction, simply realistically obeying the Lord as He asks them to trust Him for incredible things. It's a joyful, edifying, uplifting tale, yet genuinely realistic. Are some of the choices to obey difficult? Of course. But, the presence of the Lord and His clear voice solve that problem-like they have for the author for nearly fifty years.
These stories show you how to hear and obey-thereby receiving an amazingly wonderful, satisfying life. That's what the walk of faith has always been, if you hear and obey.
