Résumé

The Cry family left Carolina for a new start, but their hard times only continue as they press on westward. From sudden storms to auto accidents, misfortune and misadventure seem to dog their every step. Meanwhile, the trail of bludgeoned bodies behind them only grows. But who's to blame: gentle giant Milton, tormented by grisly nightmares, or his older brother Billy, whose resentment festers with every new person he meets? The pressure intensifies when two federal agents Washington to investigate.
This painterly period piece and finely wrought family drama comes to a poetic conclusion.

À propos des auteurs

Sylvain Ricard was born in 1969 in France, in the middle of winter in a gray suburb. Bullied by his three brothers, he grew up in a hostile world of fear. One day in May 2001, he met artist Christophe Gaultier who, moved by his story, took him under his wing. Their chance encounter has resulted in heaps of wonderful books which they show to their friends with pride. Following this fruitful partnership, his friends soon decided to team up with him as well, which was how Sylvain, Frédéric Féjard, and Maël found themselves publishing together as a trio.
In parallel, Sylvain was obliged along the way to choose a profession and start working. He went to work in a laboratory, researching human genetics, all while continuing his comics projects on the side. His work includes the series "Les Rêves de Milton" (Dupuis 2005; "Milton's Dreams, " Europe Comics 2018), a historical drama which takes place in the U. S. during the Great Depression. Born in 1971, Frédéric Féjard entered the world of comics following pressure by Sylvain Ricard, who pushed him to take advantage of the explosion of the internet by creating a webzine, "bdscope." They are both authors, writing together or alone.
Féjard alternates between computing projects and writing scripts, collaborating notably with Benjamin Jurdic and Amandine Puntous. Across 2005 and 2006, alongside Maël and Sylvain Ricard, he created the two-part historical series "Les Rêves de Milton" (Dupuis; "Milton's Dreams, " Europe Comics), followed by "3 fois rien" in 2009. Martin Leclerc, known as Maël, was born not far from Grenoble during the snowstorms of April 1976.
Turning his back on Alpine skiing and ski lifts, he devoted himself from an early age to a grand project: to copy all of the "Lucky Luke" stories, sack Morris and take his place. Sadly, this was not to be, but his progressive parents nevertheless encouraged him in his chosen path. It was also through listening to his father's records that he discovered a love of the guitar, the banjo, and other folk instruments. Maël currently leads a double life, as the charismatic bearded leader of the folk-rock group HitchcockGoHome! in Paris, and as a long-haired recluse bent over his drawing board in Grenoble.
An exponent - and certainly not the only one - of the famous "style tremblé, " he draws day and night to meet the exacting requirements of his collaborators, Sylvain Ricard and Frédéric Féjard, with whom he completed the two-part historical drama "Les Rêves de Milton" (Dupuis; "Milton's Dreams, " Europe Comics).
