Résumé

As sixteen-year-old Carole Mason tramps towards a cabin deep in the snow-covered woods of Vermont, she can hardly believe that she is about to lose her virginity to the handsome and charming Eddie Lindbaeck. But too much alcohol and an uninvited guest lead the night to take a horrific turn, and Carole flees the woods with a dark secret. Terrified into silence, Carole tries to put as much distance as she can between herself and that night.
She moves from place to place, never letting anyone get too close, until, after ten years of running, she feels ready to stop. But just as life starts to seem liveable the past rears its head and the people she loves could be in danger. Carole must decide whether she is still that frightened teenager, or if she has finally found the courage to fight.
