Sister Crazy

Jemima Weiss grew up with a special liking for Action Man, American westerns, bagels with cheddar on top and, above all else, her family : her rumpled sportswriter father, her adored, omniscient mother who may be descended from a Druid with Druid powers and her four siblings. But growing up Weiss has been so idyllic, so dangerously complete that Jem, now an adult, is struggling to create a life for herself, away from her sweet, funny, boisterous family. I am right about the world, she says, how it can never measure up. And as she fights against the dark times, she reflects on a childhood so happy that it has left her adrift in the adult world.
