Jean-Marc Ibos (1957) studied architecture at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. UP5, in Nanterre. Gradudd (DPLG) in 1982, he won the PAN (New Architecture Program) in 1981, the Albums of Young, architecture in 1983 and the Villa Medicis Hors les Murs in 1984. Associated with Jean Nouvel for the project Némausus, in Nîmes, completed in 1987, he founded in 1985 with Emmanuel Blamont, Jean Nouvel and Myrto Vitart, the Jean Nouvel et Associés office.
Major projects come from this period including the Palais des Congrés in Tours, the Kansai Airport and the Tour sans Fin in la Défense. In 1990 he creates with Myrto Vitart the Jean Marc Ibos Myrto Vitart office. The Museum of Fine Arts of Lille, the first completed project of the office sud winner of the Equerre d'Argent award in 1997 and of the DuPont Benedictus award in 1998, earned him international recognition.
Many studies follow, institutional or private, as well as completed projects such as the Fire Station in Nanterre, the Maison des Adolescents, Cochin Hospital in Paris, inaugurated in 2004, the Departmental Archives of Ille et Vilaine in Rennes in 2006. and the André Malraux Library in Strasbourg in 2008. Jean Marc Ibos taught at the School of Architecture of Paris la Défense in Nanterre, from 1998 to 2002 and at the Technische Universitat Berlin foin 2002 to 2005.
He has been Visiting Professor at the Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture, Paris, in 1994/1995, at the Columbia University, New York, in 2000/2001 and at the EPFL, Lausanne, in 2005/2006. He now teaches et the Ecole Nationale d'Architecture et de Paysage de Lille. Myrto Vitart (1955) studied architecture at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, UP7, in Paris, and graduated (DPLG) in 1984. She worked from 1979 to 1985 with Jean Nouvel and founded in 1985, with Emmanuel Blamont, Jean-Marc Ibos and Jean Nouvel, the Jean Nouvel et Associés office.
At that time, she completed the Onyx Cultural Centre in Saint-Herblain. inaugurated in 1988. In 1990 she creates with Jean-Marc Ibos, the Jean Marc Ibos Myrto Vitart office.
