Born on June 14, 1966, Elizabeth Doerr has dedicated must of' her waking hours to mechanical watches since 1991.
She is a regular contributor to International Watch. DuPont registry , Cigar Aficionado, Elite traveler, and other U.S. publications as well as internationally based magazines such as Plaza Watch, Mexico's ! tiempo de Relojes, Holland's Watch, and Swiss website worldtempus.com. Doerr is also the editor of Wristwatch annual, a yearly 400-page overview of high-end mechanical watches. This native of Petoskev, Nlichigan's independent expertise and standing in her field are unique: she is a member of several international juries as well as the Time Aeon foundation's Pleiad Competition, initiated by Harry Winston.
Having co-authored Elite Timepieces in 2008, Doerr is also currently working on further book projects. Doerr moved to Germant• in 1988 to pursue graduat studies in German language and Iiterature aller graduating from Kalamazoo College with a bachelor's degrec in German and European Studies. She now lives in Karlsruhe, on the northern edge of Germanv's Black 1'orest, with her husband and two children.
Ralf Baumgarten vas born on September 15. 1960, in Saarbrücken, Germanv. He studied communication design al the university of Wuppertal, earning his diploma in 1988. ln 1984, he was awarded top prizes in Polaroid and Kodak competitions. Baumgarten is personally interested in watchmaking, and his work boasts a varied repertoire of themes seen in his exhibitions: "Stuhl in 30 Akten," Cologne, 1997; the Volkenroda convent in Weimar as the subject of an exposition of the 2000 \Vorld's Fair; "Au Coeur du Val," an exhibition focusing on a Swiss valley Chat Look place in Hérémence in 2007; "See the Haines," show n in Sulzhach, Germanv.
