Fluid mechanics is the science that studies the motions and forces acting on fluids such as Bases and liquids. These motions are ubiquitous in the world around us, ranging in scale from the movements of single-celled micro-organisms such as paramecia to large-scale motions of the oceans or atmosphere. Of particular interest is the calculation of the forces on the boundaries adjoining the fluid.
